No degree is required. No prior financial services experience is required. What matters most is that you are a U.S. citizen, willing to obtain your state license, coachable, and ready to put in the work. Many of the most successful agents in this industry came from retail, real estate, service, healthcare, or roles completely unrelated to finance. If you can build a relationship and have a professional conversation, you have the foundation.

Sales experience is a plus — not a prerequisite. The process of educating a client on life insurance protection is learnable, and we provide the training, scripts, and mentorship to help you develop it.

Most agents complete their state life insurance license within two to three weeks depending on their availability and state requirements. Once licensed and appointed with a carrier, you can begin attending live training appointments within approximately one week. Your first issued and paid policy can come quickly after that — some agents write their first policy within their first week of appointments.

Timeline is largely driven by how quickly you complete your pre-licensing coursework, pass your exam, and get your carrier appointments processed. We guide you through each step so nothing falls through the cracks.

Personal production means you are writing policies and earning commissions directly on the clients you serve. This is where everyone starts, and for many agents, it remains the primary focus. Done well, personal production can generate a strong six-figure income on its own.

Building an agency means you also recruit, train, and develop other agents. When agents on your team write policies, you earn override commissions on their production in addition to your own. The agency path is optional — not required — but it is how the highest-earning agents in the life insurance industry create compounding, scalable income. It is the difference between a great career and a real enterprise.
